Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

Getting arrested for drunk driving is more than embarrassing. Our attorneys know that being arrested is a frightening and confusing experience. Besides jail, a DUI conviction can cost you your driving privileges, livelihood, and permanently stain your criminal and driving records. However, a charge is not the same as a conviction. There are several defenses available to DUI charges.

Even on cases with similar facts, DUI penalties can vary greatly, or even be eliminated, based upon strategies taken by defendants. Many times, this is true regardless of the strength of a particular defendant's case. Our attorneys have privately defended hundreds of clients charged with DUI. We understand DUI defense inside and out.

DUI defense, penalties, and collateral consequences are complex. Even the least serious DUI offense is graded a misdemeanor. The most serious DUI offenses can carry years of incarceration and license suspensions. If you are charged with a DUI offense of any nature you should immediately obtain an experienced Pennsylvania DUI defense attorney.

Depending on the facts of your case, you may be eligible for a diversion program such as Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD). However, participating in ARD can cause complications as well, so you should consult a lawyer before making a decision.

Commercial drivers are especially at risk with DUI charges. Commercial drivers from any state face at least a year suspension of their commercial driver's license, even when participating in ARD and avoiding conviction and even if they were arrested off-duty in a private vehicle. Commercial drivers face a lifetime commercial driving bar on a second set of DUI charges.

DUI defendants from out-of-state often face logistical problems in relation to traveling to court for various hearings. Our attorneys regularly assist out-of-state clients in reducing the amount of in-person appearances as far as possible and with scheduling issues.

DUI charges often come along with Crimes Code charges. Our attorneys are experienced in all areas of criminal defense in addition to DUI.
